I'm running my instruments through a PreSonus FP10 (http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=3) to firewire on my MB. I've got both a Sound Blaster x-fi Titanium (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102024)
and the built in RealTek HD sound card. With the RealTek I can get the line in to work by messing with the settings as shown in this thread, but it does me absolutely no good when using my FP10. With the Sound Blaster I can get the line in working as well,
but it seems to like reseting. What I'd like, and I don't think this is an unreasonable request, is to be able to use my FP10 through firewire and my Sound Blaster and be able to hear instantaneous playback.
Recording is fine, as I have tried running my sound through my amp instead, so I know it's not an issue with my recording program (I have used Cakewalk, Audacity, and Cubase). Drivers were the first thing I updated and then I spent several hours messing
with the settings of both sound cards, w7 sound options, and the config of the FP10. I look through the registry for that fix earlier in the thread and had no luck. I tried that sound replicator that was mentioned, and while it greatly reduced the delay, there
was still a noticable delay (and the sound quality was sub optimal). It's rare for me to come across a computer issue that I can't either fix myself or find out how to fix it online, so this issue has been rather frustrating. If anyone could help me out or
point me in right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit Home Premium on a i7 920 with 8GB of ram. If anyone would like any other specs or information, just let me know.
