Windows 7 Preview Pane not working

Hi everybody,

It seems that I've some kind of problem with the PREVIEW PANE of the EXPLORER which only works for pictures and not for others type of files ( for video it only shows a pic, doesn't work for .txt, .pdf etc).

Would you know how to fix this problem ?

Here you go,

In Windows Explorer, click Organize / Folder and Search options / View Tab.

Remove the Check Mark from the Always show Icons never Thumbnails option.

Click Apply / OK.

    Amazing how tons of people jump in to give the totally obvious answers that anybody can look up and try. Everybody assumes that question askers are total idiots.

    I've asked a bunch of questions and gotten a bunch of these types of answers (all of which I have already tried before even asking). When a question is really difficult and a real problem, all the "experts" come up empty - regularly.

    I still have several out there unanswered, with long strings of answers that did not work.

    The ultimate answer seems to be do a complete clean re-installation. Something I will not do.

    Apple regularly stays on top of problems - and unlike Microsoft - solves them.

    Shame on M.

    Just got off the phone with Microsoft technician who told me that Windows 10 was upgraded in this is not allowed anymore you cannot preview documents PDF documents on a folder preview my thought process is Microsoft bought stock in Mac and is trying to get everybody to buy MAC machines

    This solution appears to have solved my issue.  We'll see in the long run since my preview-ability is intermittent.
