Wow, I can't believe this topic has been going on so long. I also felt the xbox 360 controller with chatpad would be great for my HTPC. Although I do not mind using my wireless keyboard, it is bulky and is not well liked by wife.

Well for those of you who have given up on MS making a driver you might want to look at theLenovo Multimedia Remote I have not bought it yet, but it looks promising and will be buying it on payday :)

Yeah I've been following this topic forever as well, I'm really disappointed that Microsoft haven't seen the potential, the keyboard you link to looks really sweet and indeed I've been watching that as well, but sadly it misses backlight, the chatpad could be the almost perfect HTPC accessory.

Don't you love how microsoft always answers 1 time with something that misses the entire point of your post and never posts again EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE IS STILL UNRESOLVED!!!?

@JohnD The issue is not with an xbox nor is it really even an issue with the chatpad. It's more of an issue with the xbox accessories receiver which IS made for windows and the driver for such WHICH ALSO is made for windows. If I post on xbox.com that I need a windows driver for a windows product what will they tell me you think? I don't need the receiver to work on an xbox, it already has one. I also already has the drivers. HENCE THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE RECEIVER TO MAKE THESE DEVICES WORK ON PC!  Do you even read what we're typing?

@DatDarkOne You wrote "what do you expect for something that doesn't come with software in the box?" I bought my controller and and receiver in a bundle that came with a (guess what?) A CD WITH SOFTWARE ON IT! Guess what it's called? Hold on let me get it out of my cd case....Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories: Windows Software. How's that for no software in the box? It's even in multi-language and says I'm not allowed to make illegal copies of this disc (But what the ____ does that mean? How do you make an illegal driver disc? It's against the law to copy your device driver and software in case you lose it? Anyway my point is the receiver was made for pc and they are completely blowing us off not updating the driver software to include the chatpad. ____, everything else works. My wireless headset, wireless les paul for guitar hero, why not the chatpad?

Thats about it until developers decide to use it? Wrong, if it was supported in windows as a keyboard I could use 3rd party software to assign keystrokes to the chatpad instead of the keyboard and it would work in any keyboard supported pc game (That's about all of them I think) All the driver would really have to do is emulate the keystrokes from the chatpad to the os just like it came from the keyboard. i.e press x on chatpad, driver recognizes x being pressed, tells os that keyboard x was pressed instead, same outcome...and it's wireless...and it's tiny...and it looks awesome. I have a Razer Tarantula and I would still rather have a chatpad for MMO playing and XBMC/simple tv internet browsing from the couch or even for a car pc. The possibilities are so endless and all we need is a driver.

The only "DEVELOPER SUPPORT" we need is from who DEVELOPS the software for the receiver for the WINDOWS SIDE!
