default gateway not available in windows 7

G'day,

While Windows 7 works and looks good, there is one major issue which threatens to derail the entire experience for me.

Several times a day, the default gateway becomes unavailable, which means that the PC running Windows 7 loses internet connectivity. At the same time, other PCs, running Vista, are continuing to work normally. This includes one PC with a WiFi connection and another which is normally wired.

The details of my network controllers (there are two) are as follows.

The problem is solved by manually having to repair the problem when Windows 7 finds that the default gateway is not avaialble and resets network controller 2.

I have seen that this is not an isolated  with several reports on the net, some suggesting that a different driver might help, but which one? Any suggestions?

It's one of many known nVidia issues with Windows 7 that nVidia must correct, unfortuniately Microsoft has nothing to do with it. I would sugguest that you contact nVidia for assistance.

    Exhale!!!!!! Thank u so much SK1NT!!!..... I have tried everything and only your solution help. I wouldnt dream about turning off my  McAfee internet security suite at no time, but I tried your solution and it help!

    For those who have tried everything and nothing works just try this....

    Turn off your McAfee security firewall to off, then turned it on again. Maybe its another internet security, just turn it off and turn it back on.

    In my case I understand that my McAfee was about to expired, so to protect my pc, McAfee automatically switch off my internet service in the best interest of my pc. lol

    I couldnt have figured it out if God sent ST1NT didnt suggesed it. :D thanks a million!I

    INTRUCTIONS......

    click on the internet protection u have, normally ithe icon is at the bottom of the screen

    on it, you will see firewall ON or OFF..... just switch if off and switch it back on. It works like a charm.

    yes, ive had the same problem, no Mcafee... anyone know how to fix if i do not have Mcafee?
