Can not boot XP at all - Getting Bluescreen error

If you found this website, then your well on your way to getting your problem resolved. The promlem was that this updated, COMBINED with an infected system of the Alure virus caused a crash. The fix is doable, and the answer is OUTLINED in the steps above. You did not lsoe your photos and music as Angelkisses420 has stated. Microsoft hung up on him and called him an *****...I wonder why.

Dont listen to him. Follow the steps above or print thsi webpage and hand it to your local computer guru to get the update UNDONE.

The easiest way is to remove the hard drive, put the hard drive into another computer and repalce the 4 files that are causing the problem.

Here it is again....I have fixed this issue on 4 systems (I have hundreds to manage, luckily id didnt happen to more than 4)

In these instruction, my operating system was on the "I" drive. on most, the operating system will be on the 'C" drive, so use these instructions to delete and copy files from the C drive, not the i drive.

If you cant do this, get somebody who can load your hardd rive onto there system and then perform the steps below MANUALLY

delete 4 files

then COPY the files in the first part of the steps to the location in the second part of the step.

When you see the .000 you will have to delete the file in the new location FIRST, then copy the file to the new lcoaiton, then RENAME the file without the .000

There are instructions IN THIS thread to perform a BATCH uninstall, for some people that will be easier.

Final instructions....once done...TURN OFF auto updates....for now.

1 of my comptuers, got it a second time and it was harder the second time around then the first...dont ask why, its a long stopry, but in short the unstall fiels dont install correctly the second time, so you dont want this to happen TWICE. OUCH!

3- if youre one of those people out there, who's computer has crashed because the update, and it wont let you boot from disk. it wont give you that option, im sorry but you wont be able to save your pictures & files (unless you wanna pay $1200 or more).. but to at least have a running computer, im sorry but you wont get to have xp.. my computer had that problem.. and it wouldnt boot from the xp disk.. and i tried 10 different disks.. microsoft argued that it was hardware, or my fault.. or that the update messed up my pc due to malware & etc.. i argued with them.. the guy was a paki, who decided to tell me to speak english, even though he couldnt speak a lick of english. so he argued, and called me a ____ and then hungup on me.. so microsoft isnt really helpful..

ANYWHO.. those who cant boot from disk to correct the problem.. the only choice is to either A) throw your pc out in the trash.. or B) load vista or 7 on it.. its the only way youll get it to work.. im sorry but its true.. i couldnt load xp.. at all.. but vista and 7 works.. i wish i could give good news.. but..  im sorry... thats the only option i know of..

Can you help me?  I was going to try what you suggested and really screwed it up.  I did the system recovery and now it is back to when I got it from the factory.  I suppose I have to live with that...but it said it would save stuff in a back up file.  I can see the file, but have no idea how to get the stuff back.  It is on my C drive listed as My Backup -- 10-02-13-1042am.  I am so frustrated.

comp32, the CD in question is your original Operating System Reinstallation CD that you should get when you purchase a new computer with an OS installed, or when you purchase a new OS.
