It's still very early, but this is a good candidate for Rant of the Year.

I think I'm going to puke!!! Not because all of the sudden my Brand new (2
months old) laptop can NOT find any wireless networks including the one I
set up long before this laptop and had never ever had any issues with any PC
here at home including this new Toshiba until NOW ...
The reason I feel like puking is within the last years all the stuff I have
been talking about for the last 10 years involving BIG CORP AMERICA has
painfully been confirmed. I have now been the victim of 3 major Corps
starting with HP. Early 2003 I bought a top of the line HP pavillion laptop
to the tune of $1800, within 3 months it was back to HP for a new
motherboard .Thinking this is kind of rare but i guess someone has to get 1
of at least 10,000 PC's that just have manufacture defects or whatever
(legitimate problem). Now i am going to spare you all the time i spent on
the phone, e-mails and not to mention the additional $ spent to have the
product it was supposed to be, actually be. Bottom line is I spent 3 times
as much $ as I originally paid for it new. HP and other repair facilities
actually had it more than I did. When it had its last issue in Sept 2010 and
i had really started researching the solution myself, I found out that HP
knew of the certain issues that these pavillions had before they mass
produced them and sold them, and continued to sell them for an additional 3
years without implementing the 50 cent per unit fix. Realizing if they coped
to the now wide spread issue not only would they be loosing maximum profit
from all of the units manufactured after the fix but then they would have to
do a recall or something to deal with all they sold before the fix as well.
Big Corp solution you asked? Simple !! First is deny knowing of any common
mass issue. Second occasionally miss direct by blaming manufactures of
components they installed as a HP product. And then there is my favorite
most widely used by all big Corps !! Third make technical support so
frustrating and time consuming and non existent that most just give up and
buy something else new.
Which brings me to the current issue and Microsoft. After my little mishap
and imaginary problem with HP, I was left with still needing a laptop! Ok,
No big deal, right? I'll just run down to fry's and stay away from HP and
buy something simple and fairly inexpensive due to the fact that you don't
always get what you pay for at least with HP. So I'm at fry's and looking
around find a few that appear to be worth the financial risk again...LOL....
but notice that every single PC they had in that store only had windows 7.
Using benefit of the doubt and ASSUMING that Microsoft had surely worked the
bugs out of this OS after their embarrassing release of Windows ME followed
by their all new and improved Vista disaster. So I purchased the Toshiba
mentioned earlier. Got it home unpacked it, set it up first to the Lan
(Eithernet) connection then right to my WAN Wifi connection using WPA 2
security Poof No Problem. Start using it quit often but not really noticing
the wonderful features the according to Microsoft you and I built into
Windows 7. Then running into compatibility issues, followed by ie just
completely disappearing, Mozilla crashing, the inability to get very basic
needed software to run right and consistently like Adobe and Winzip. I was
beginning to get really frustrated and disappointed. So to put my mind at
ease I Google Toshiba and find virtually nothing to send up a flag, Google
Win 7 32 bit and really don't find anything to serious mostly just have to
wait for patches or upgrades, expected from a new OS like WIN 7. Meantime I
get ie ironed out Winzip, Adobe and Mozilla all working and consistently,
I'm ok with this new Toshiba and Win 7 will top XP eventually. Well that
lasted roughly a month and a half!!!Which brings me to the current
manufacture defect that the manufacture is actively exercising the BIG Corp
1,2,3 solutions mentioned above from HP!!!
Heres the kicker!! Which brings me to Apple i touch. I bought me a lil
music, video, full blown browser n internet capabilities in the palm of my
hand for a lil under $300. Bought this Dec 22 2010..... 2 days before this
Win 7 manufacture known issue I have discovered that the ipod has issues
with Safari the chosen internet browser developed by Apple and until
recently a MAC/ Apple exclusive internet browser, just crashes or wont find
Wifi and run any apps. How did I found out that Apple has known about this
problem for over 2 years now? Googled my issue to find I am one of hundreds
of thousands of people with this same issue!!!
Anybody noticing a common thing here? Look their to big for any one of us
to do any reputable damage to, we no longer band together on things (the
last time we did was the civil war) and the Icing on top of the cake is
these Corps have learned how to screw us constantly from no other than our
Federal Government!! ya i know some of you are going to say "WOW" this guy
is way off of the subject of this thread or "He's blaming the Government for
his bad experiences"
Look it's how it is no matter how you try to justify it... they ALL make
____ knowingly, over charge us and then basically try to make us feel we are
stupid or some how or some way its our fault, that we are having a new
isolated issue that we must have caused by some how opening the wrong end of
the box!!!!!
Anyways I cant wait for the person that is going to find the cure for all
of us because THE bottom line is!!! It's a WINDOWS 7 issue!!!!
