In every application on my computer, my cursor jumps around while typing. I can not type fast because I have toconstantly bring the cursor back to where I am typing (just did it again right now). Something is wrong and needs to be fixed. I am not technical and have no idea how to fix or what forum this question belongs in. Please advise.

To all who have been having 'cursor jumps around while typing' problem.  I had the same problem and had my Sony VAIO support team help me with it.  They put in a fix that worked.  Microsoft.  It would be beneficial if you could contact Sony regarding this problem and access to the solution they put in place for me, since they seem to have found a solution to the problem.

This is great advice. I have installed it and it works. So much easier than the other fixes suggested - specially the one suggested by Microsoft! Thank you.

Has MS provided a comprehensive link to this long-standing, persistant, annoying and frustrating anomaly ?

A basic, essential element of IT.

That otherwise   renders almost all their products " Not Fit For Pupose".

Glad you found the answer to the problem. My cursor had been leaping around for ages and I had got to the point of considering changing my laptop as I could find no solution. One evening my son was watching me get frustrated trying to type a email and said that I was not sitting at the right position to the keyboard ( I use my laptop at the dining room table). He said either I needed to be higher up or the table needed lowering. Could it be this simple after all the things I had been through trying to rectify this problem? One cushion later it was solved. It appears that although I was not touching the mouse pad, I was close enough to activate it! Elbows should be level with the keyboard not lower in my case! Problem solved.
