Windows Media Player - Intermittent error when trying to play media file-Server Execution Failed

Here's an update:-

Media Player plays tunes fine and has done for a while BUT I keep getting the popup relating to corruption of the MP3 database.

The Event Viewer Error has the ID 10 with the following details:-

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

The Source is WMI with the following XML details

Laptop = Sony VAIO CS21Z, 4GB RAM, Windows 7 32 BIT, NVIDIA Graphics Card and NO 3rd Party Anti-Virus (never had one in 25 years of computing).

This fault occured when the computer was standalone, WIFI/bluetooth/network OFF

100Gb+ of MP3 Files are on and external Freecom 500GB USB hard drive

The tunes appear file but the insistence of regular errors like the one above tell me that Media Player 12 is not as mature as it should be for release to the customer.

Please can someone from Microsoft identify what the issue is and how to correct it.

Bump and a quick update.

Uninstalled Avast to test the above antivirus theory.   Does the same thing, but with a twist.   I still have the problem where I can open an MP3, it plays fine, I close it, try to open it again, and it will not play and gives the server execution error.   However now when I go to task manager I can go back and get other MP3's to play (not the original).  Eventually they will stop working, give the same error, I stop the process, and I can play other MP3's.   Before WMP would totally hose after the first server execution error and not play at all until Windows was restarted - hard boot only.   The files will not play again once they've given the error.  If I copy them over from my backup, they play fine until WMP eats them again.  I don't believe uinstalling the antivirus software has created this difference.    There have been several update to WMP since I started this back in DECEMBER.  More than likely one of them has changed something that has resulted in this change.  Still is not working.  Winamp, WMP Classic, etc.. still work fine.  

Again I started this in DECEMBER and Microsoft has yet to actually answer any question, respond to any of my feedback, or post anything other than the same repetitious junk that obviously didn't solve the problem the first time around.   It would be nice if Microsoft would actually read the thread, provide some coherent thoughts that are on topic, and open a dialogue so that we can get this resolved.   The "not read, post once a month, and not followup" method is wearing thin.   I see there are points of some sort awarded for answers, are there some penalties for failing to assist customers, failing to followup, and for generally not caring?

I do not have any third party anti-virus software installed (it is a personal data free computer and will never have details on it).  Thus this is not the problem on my laptop and I am trying to replicate my problem with no success YET.

Interesting.   I'll test it out.  I'm thinking this should have been taken care of by using msconfig to disable that on boot... but it's worth checking out.   FYI Even if this does actually make WMP usable, it is not a valid *FIX*.   WMP should not be conflicting with av scanners.. that's just ____ poor programming by MS  (which sadly enough we should have all come to accept by now).   All the third party MP3 players I've used, and am currently using, do not have any issues whatsoever with either Avast or AVG.

Also interesting to note that MS is avoiding this thread like the plague.  Will be almost a month now with no followup and their repetitious, and equally ineffective, suggestions.
