My taskbar keeps disappearing randomly and will not come back until I restart.  Once I restart the taskbar comes back and then disappears again. I have looked at the other solutions from people having similar problems and the solutions do not work.

open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del, click Task Manager)

Click on File>New Task (Run) and enter "explorer.exe" (without the quotes)

Then click OK.

Does it come back?

Are there any applications that are running that might be closing explorer.exe?

I just got my new computer with Windows 7 last week. I have found that every time I leave it alone for more than an hour, the screen cycles through the screensaver then goes black. The computer is not in sleep mode because I can reactivate it immediately by moving the mouse. However, the task bar has vanished. I have to restart the computer to get it back. Obviously, reading through this thread, there seems to be some sort of glitch or bug here? I do not have the computer set to "sleep".

I found that you might not even have to wait for your screensaver to pop up, just preview your screensaver and it might pop back I've done this once but it works and will hopefully continue to do so

We are having the same problem and it started as soon as we installed Windows 7.  The task bar is there when we start the computer and anytime we restart but it disappears at random.  I've also tried all the suggestions and nothing is working.  I'm really frustrated.
