My taskbar keeps disappearing randomly and will not come back until I restart. Once I restart the taskbar comes back and then disappears again. I have looked at the other solutions from people having similar problems and the solutions do not work.

open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del, click Task Manager)
Click on File>New Task (Run) and enter "explorer.exe" (without the quotes)
Then click OK.
Does it come back?

My taskbar just started to have this problem a couple of weeks ago (after almost 1.5 years). This solution has worked for me. However, is there any permanent solution?
Sorry to be a little obvious here but has anyone tried hitting F11? If the computer has gone into full screen mode then this may well drop it back to normal.

The suggested "explorer.exe" solution did not work. I would also like to say that this did not start happening until I set a screensaver. I am going to change it back to no screensaver and see if that solves the problem. Bad Microsoft, bad!
I have been having the same issue and it is annoying. What I have found is that if you click it so that the taskbar autohides, then wait a few minutes (5 ish), then take the auto-hide off. It will stay up as normal. Sucks though cause after every restart you might have to do it again.
