If you are seeing that error it's very likely the disk is failing even though it appears to be working OK. The disk itself and Windows both try to detect and automatically repair errors. If Windows is seeing errors it means the disk can no longer repair them. There are other reasons why this error may show up but you should test the disk ASAP. You should also make sure that any important data on the disk is backed up.  The laptop may have come with a program to test the hardware. If not try this program.

i get the same problem, but for sum strange reason, i get it on a brand new drive(went & bought a new disk).

all i did was take a photo of my C: drive & transfer it, as i was fed up sitting up until the small hours re-installing drivers.

it never occured to me ,it could be a virus as PCTools IS updates its self daily.
