I have a problem with printing from the latest version of Microsoft Edge. When I select some text on the browser and choose Print → 'Save As Pdf', the download starts but never finishes. How can I fix this? Is this a common issue for all the users of the latest version of Edge?

I have tried restating the PC, Resetting the browser, stopping all the extension etc. to fix it. but it doesn't work? Should I switch to Chrome?

Microsoft Print to PDF tends to be a half measure at best. It typically messes up the PDF formatting and flattens it as an image so none of the text is selectable or searchable within the document. Only use if you aren't copy pasting or searching for something.

Can someone explains better the workaround ?

I have reported also in another thread that the Print functionality “Save as PDF” is not working - so if you have a workaround elaborate better because Microsoft piggybacks on Download functionality for both save and print functionality therefore both are broken.

In another thread it was suggested to me to uninstall and install a previous version of Edge. I need to do yet - if it works I’ll post the result and how to do it on the thread.

So, I've tried Save as PDF both in my Edge browser at work and at home but it doesn't work. Both system are using slightly different builds, but the problem only started occurring this morning 12/11/2023. When I last used the function last Friday 12/08/2023 it was still working.

Work computer: Windows 10 Pro version 22H2, Acrobat version 2023.006.20380, Edge Version 120.0.2210.61

Home computer: Windows 11 Pro version 23H2, Acrobat version 2023.006.20380, Edge Version 120.0.2210.61

Meanwhile, that feature works just fine in Chrome. So I don't think it is something security or checkbox related in Acrobat or the Acrobat extension, I think this has to exclusively be an MS issue.

I've tried every single "fix" outlined above, and none of them resolve the problem completely or at all.

Edit: added system builds, dates, and other info.

Users reporting issue this morning, work-around using "Microsoft Print to PDF" instead of "Save as PDF"
