How can I get Edge to restore all the tabs I had open last session?

This happened to me last night and I lost a lot of tabs, needless to say I'm still extremely frustrated about it. I was on a pretty old version though, i.e not updated for at least a year,  but it was still working fine. (For any Edge Devs - the Mini Menu I had was still a magnifying glass with the three dots.) This issue stemmed from the fact that Edge used to**^** only store two sessions' worth of data, located in a "Session" and "Tab" file per session (so four files in total). **So if Edge crashed you only had one chance to recover your tabs.**Trying to simplify it:Session 1 files: Data for original session with all your tabsSession 2 files: Data for session that starts after Edge restartsIf you weren't careful after a crash, for example you re-opened Edge and then closed the "Restore all tabs from previous session?" dialogue box (which is fine because if you have too many tabs open and restore them simultaneously Edge could crash again and you would definitely lose everything) and/orfor some reason the closed tabs didn't appear in the History button then you were pretty much on the edge (no pun intended) of losing all your tabs.If you closed Edge again (i.e. Session 2) and reopened it (effectively Session 3), then you would have lost the Session 1 file because for some silly reason Edge was designed so that these files -- which only take up to a maximum of a few dozen megabytes each if you have hundreds of tabs open --get rewritten because **only two sessions' worth of data is stored!!!****^**I say "used to" because I can see now in my Sessions folder (Edge Version 120.0.2210.144 (Official build) (x86_64)) that there now 3 Session and 3 Tab files, indicating that Edge mightbe storing more session data (but I'm not sure because I haven't and don't want to test it for fear of losing my tabs again). Suggestions for fix

If this hasn't been fixed may I suggest the following?

• Allow for more session data to be stored and then allow users to reopen previous sessions. Although you will need to keep in mind if they have a lot of tabs open that opening them all at once could just crash Edge again so there needs to be a way to open one window at a time (personally I had multiple windows open and when Edge crashes I normally open one window at a time to prevent it from crashing trying to open everything at once)
• Allow for the dialog box that asks if the user wants to restore previously closed tabs stay in the three dot menu after it has been closed. Now that I think about it, if your tabs don't appear in the History button and you restored all tabs from the previous session and Edge crashed again, the tabs would sometimes appear in the next session in the History button

I can't imagine the amount of unnecessary stress and lost productivity that comes from this silly issue; yes users shouldn't have too many tabs open but some people just do and it's frustrating when work is lost.

Also, after using the latest version of Edge I've noticed that I'm experiencing multiple slowdowns for no apparent reason and I haven't got anything open on my computer except Edge and iBooks (and I certainly don't have as many tabs open compared to the previous version). After a quick google my thoughts have been confirmed; Edge is becoming too bloated and feature-filled and as a result it's slowing down overall. The entire reason people moved to Edge in the first place is because it was fast and lightweight, so what is going on?

If one has multiple Edge instances opened, then it only opens the tabs from the last instance closed. This is horrible microsoft. Back to Chrome which supports this.

Please where you able to rectify this horrible catastrophe? I have been in so much agony as this just happened to me and I lost more than anyone can possibly imagine. This is why I prefer Chrome to MS Edge. It has that neat feature that allows you to open all recently closed tabs and I never have to enable anyhting

I can't seem to find the setting you're referring to close all Edge windows at once so this doesn't happen again.

Edge keeps a copy of the last session; if you haven't closed the browser since discovering that your tabs were missing, it may be possible to find them again.

A good solution was to Add all tabs to new collection, but that seems to have gone away.

All good, the answer I provided should definitely work.

I have to say Edge has become quite a poor browser, it once stood out as being lightweight and fast but these days it's just bloated and slow. I don't think I'll be using Edge for much longer considering how bad it has become.
