The new Edge browser will occasionally freeze. When this happens there is no screen control and ending the Edge process using the task manager closes the browser window bur does not release all the resources forcing me to restart the PC. This can happen on a webpage or when watching videos. Is this a known problem and has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 update installed, have no problems with other applications and no freezing when using Firefox or Chrome

The freezing problem when I went back to using Edge from Edge Canary. I am a little weary about putting it back on.

I also have the same problem and I have been using my laptop for less than a year and I have run various checks to confirm that the fault lies somewhere else. The device I am using is Asus Zephyrus (2021) with 16 Gb ram and a 3060 graphics card. So I use Unity, Chrome, Visual Studio, and Microsoft edge at the same time since I am taking game development classes online that require me to do so. At first, I thought it might be due to ram being overwhelmed but the ram usage does not cross 70% at any given time, it wasn't until today that I found that the freeze always occurred when using edge to view pdfs while running the above-mentioned apps.
Good, I found out I wasn't alone, I was almost on the brink to return my laptop.
The freeze only occurs when I use visual studio, unity, and edge together till now and am yet to experience the freeze otherwise than the situation mentioned above.
When edge hangs the entire explorer stop responding. Therefore start does not pop out and thus not being able to run edge as Admin.
I renamed the extension to the files "msedge.dll" and "msedge.exe" in the folder
C: \ Program Files \ x86) \ Microsoft \ Edge \ Application \ 92.0.902.55 \
I no longer have freezes :)
