Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
The new Edge browser will occasionally freeze. When this happens there is no screen control and ending the Edge process using the task manager closes the browser window bur does not release all the resources forcing me to restart the PC. This can happen on a webpage or when watching videos. Is this a known problem and has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 update installed, have no problems with other applications and no freezing when using Firefox or Chrome

I stopped using Edge, I switched back to Chrome and do not have issues any longer!
Yes this Issues very critical, I faced with this for few months already. Till now, Dec 2021 had not been fixed, even in dev edge version 98.0.1089.1 (Official build) dev (64-bit).
I have tried all of your suggestions, but before I can get to the final selection, I get a popup that says "The page isn't responding", and then Edge freezes. Edge either shuts down by itself in about a minute, or I have to close with Task Manager.
I can't get to your solutions page.
Is there a way to fix outside of Edge itself?
My solution was to go back to chrome.
I have the same issue as well running a brand new Asus Tuf gaming A15.
The only errors that were logged in event viewer are the typical ones for a hard reset. Although 506 was a bit sus.

There doesn't seem to be any other relevant events but I have definitely only had this issue while running Edge.
This seems like a particularly bad crash if it can freeze the entire system with the keyboard not responding.
From comments here it doesn't seem like a hardware issue at all unless the program is causing a hardware problem.
As many have mentioned my version of edge is the most recent update.
