New Microsoft Edge wont play HDR videos in YouTube

As the title describes, I cannot play/ see HDR YouTube videos - the option is not available any more from the resolution selection.

With previous Edge (prior to 15/01/2020) I could and I could also choose a higher resolution from my screen's native one.

I would like to point out also, that neither Chrome and Firefox provide such option - I really cannot understand why but my issue here is with Edge.

Yes, my screen is HDR capable.

I would highly appreciate any help into solving this matter.

    I just uninstalled the new edge and it reverted back to legacy. HDR works fine. I will not upgrade until this is fixed.

    YES EXACTLY HELLENICSUN, before the last big update i somewhat  'resolved' this by using the beta chrome entering chromeflags and using the force colour profile. but now it wont work, seems they have changed it again.

    then you cant use the hdr videos in 4k 'HDR' as you said.

    im now using edge and chrome and also i made this video for the horrible new youtube layout which many of us cannot stand.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4duiE3WJ2XY.

    i have just resorted to using this and just keeping my HDR feature on all the time. 

    my main problem with the thing was when i would record desktop and would have to turn off the 'hdr' off in order to get a normal picture. the reason being to get proper hdr recorded on youtube u need to get paid tools and use the correct meta data and on and on and on. so i dont bother with this.

    i get that. i uninstalled chrome and re installed , i installed updates, re installed my 1080 drivers and walaa now its working for chrome atleast.  so it didnt matter that both browser were ****. its just those updates really. but also doing the whole lot in one go.  however im not holding my breath for next time, i doubt its 'bug' is fixed yet

    I recently noticed that issue. The previous (legacy) edge was showing hdr option, but this new one (because of the new engine?) don't show HDR. BUT I can watch the Netflix HDR content on the new one.

    dont have netflix,  but i have an issue where the hdr will work on youtube videos is i use the default' in chrome://flags .

    HOWEVER when taking off default and using the other options i get a greyed out chrome browser and no hdr.

    When i got my monitor i took into account that this was a 'new' thing, however 3 years later and we still have these types of issues is a bit silly.  i watch hdr videos, but not all the time
