How to make links open in a new tab in Edge Chromium

Hi, does anyone know how to make links clicked open in a new tab, rather than in the existing tab, in the new Microsoft Edge Chromium, please?

    I'm looking for this same answer:  I want it to be the default that when I click a link, it automatically opens that link in a new tab, not overwrite the current tab.  Does this new Chromium Edge have that setting?

    Apologies, I just saw what you mean, when you actually click on the link, and that does indeed work.  Thank you!  But is there any way to make that the default setting when you click on a link, do you know?  That's how it used to be for me in old Edge

    Hi,

    Thank you for your time and help.  Unfortunately, if I Ctrl + Leftclick, I don't get anything, and if I Ctrl + rightclick, "open in new tab" isn't one of the options I get.  So I'm still stuck I'm afraid

    What everyone is asking for is to be able to do like you used to be able to do with Internet Explorer, i.e., go to Settings and Find a choice to Always Open New Tab or Never Open New Tab, when you click on a link. Duh !!!!!!!

    Just rightclicking will open the context menu from where you can select to open the link in new tab, new windows or new private window.

    This does not work if you are clicking on a Javascript or another weblet which runs code inside a webpage but is not actually serving html context menus.
