remove Bing from microsoft edge

My question is very simple that is HOW DO I REMOVE BING AS SEARCH ENGINE FROM MICROSOFT EDGE.

Please, please and please give me a simple  and direct answer or solution and not by "beating around the bush"

I am getting very fed up with Bing appearing as my search engine. I never as for it but how come Bing came in as my search engine. There are thousands if not millions that HATE Bing. Why is it still there, JUST REMOVE IT OUT FROM THE WEB or whatever permanently.

PLEAE HELP ME TO REMOVE BING IN A VERY SIMPLIFIED  STEPS!

Assuming you're using the Chromium-based Edge, open Edge settings [click ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings], then choose Privacy, search and services > Address bar and search > Manage search engines. You should see Google as an option. Click the ellipsis (three dots) at the right end of the entry and choose Make default.

    I wonder why Bing and not Edge.  I have been trying, for years, to avoid Bing.  Signing into a different browser has created all sorts of problems, but eventually I hope to get it working right.  Bing isn't a good search engine, but at this point, I am fed up and not at all happy with any of it.

    I am not even able to post what I have learned about bing.  I got thrown out of Microsoft community.

    Enter something in the search box. It uses Bing, despite all settings to the contrary.

    Not for me. It uses DuckDuckGo as expected. Your experience is anomalous.

    To clear things up,

    1. On the page edge://settings/search, are your settings similar to these?

    Which search engine have you chosen? 2. On the New Tab Page, do you see the Bing logo in the search bar?

    When I go to Settings> my options do NOT include Privacy & Services. It is called "Privacy & Security". If I go to Settings>Advanced, it shows this under "Change Search Provider":

    Meaning, I CANNOT remove Bing. Even if I click on it, right-click on it, etc.

    I am NOT in S Mode, by the way. I checked that. 

    However, I found that while I'm in Edge, I have to navigate to Google.com FIRST, then when I click on the Settings>Advanced Settings, I can then add Google as my default search engine! How dumb. But it now works.
