Chinese characters disappear when editing a pdf file on Microsoft Edge

Can someone help me with this.

I want to edit a pdf file on Microsoft Edge. It was fine with the English language; but I can't type Chinese characters, like they just disappear.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    It seems in fact that all characters beyond U+00FF are disappearing. Could it be that only the windows-1252 character set is supported?

    I just test your method, and it works;

    but...my problem maybe the opposite one :when I add a annotation( a sticky note ) in adobe ,the Chinese can't be seen in Edge

    The customer rep said that it’s a known issue and has to deal with chromium web engine and font support is not working correctly.

    I have experienced the same issue, that the edge is saving Chinese edit but could not display the edit.
