How do I remove Microsoft Edge From Windows 10?

(This reply is referring to MS Edge Chromium from the Windows 10 2020 update, while also referencing manual virus removal which may occur repeatedly until you stop downloading the virus for whatever reason, usually when the person/team pushing it stops putting it into things you're downloading)

Dear Buggscreen and anyone else asking a simple question and not getting a true, nor helpful, answer,

Just go with the old 'manual long virus removal' method:

1. Go online and search for ways to 'prevent' its re-installation. If there are any, then yay for you Today.
2. Regardless, be prepared to do this over and over again until the (lovely) person/people doing this to you decide/decides to stop pushing this garbage out onto the internet or more likely until somebody that's really nice creates a truly malice-free perma(mostly)-fix.
3. Go online and search for all of its locations, there will be many, in many forms. If you don't find any, don't give up, this method still works fine without being prepared with such knowledge.
4. On your local PC, go OFFLINE (physically if possible, ie. remove the cable or wi-fi adapter or just disconnect power from your network device), open Task Manager and if it's in there, try closing it, if it stays closed then yay, if it reopens then ignore Task Manager for this process, THEN start discovering (or going straight to) its locations one at a time, removing every individual piece of it from that location (one at a time, if need be, and if it's painstaking just remember you're destroying something you dislike or don't want) until there is nothing left that you are able or 'allowed' to remove in that location, and move on to the next location it exists in.
5. After you've destroyed(deleted) as much as possible, restart your PC, being sure to keep it 100% OFFLINE.
6. Repeat steps 4 AND 5 as many times as needed until (preferably) NOTHING remains.
7. Enjoy your PC until your PC's freedom-bane returns, though hopefully it never returns and your time on your PC remains awesome.

Each time you remove literally as much as is possible, it Should stop some or all of the other parts from even loading the next time your PC boots up, much less functioning properly, which allows you to delete/remove even more of it after the PC boots up. Restart again and more will not have been loaded which allows you to delete even more, so on and so forth until finally you get rid of all of it or as much as is possible.

The main issue will be having to do this again when they force it back onto your PC as they will continue to do, much like a virus and the person placing the virus in files you're downloading/"reading"(websites, etc.). The comparative equivalent here is, downloading updates And maybe (probably one day soon, like, tomorrow) simply Checking for updates.

Oh yeah, avoid Microsoft help sites/pages, as the ratio of help is very slim and almost none, and the only times I personally can remember seeing anyone being helped is when a Microsoft software insider decides to buy the farm and they post ALL of the (literally meticulously detailed) REAL information needed to fix the issue, straight onto one of these MS help request posts. Sucks, but, MS has made this a part of our lives.

You'd think after spending no less than $100 and up to a whole lot more than that on various Windows versions over the last set of decades, they would finally have stopped doing a whole lot of things quite intentionally.

I used IOBit uninstaller, explore to folder where exe file is right click and uninstall with IOBit... even deleted stuff usually left behind by standard uninstaller.

Hey can you please post the step by step guide? When I try to change ownership, the object name says my name doesn't exist. In fact, searching a brings up: ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES/ANONYMOUS LOGON/Authenticated Users/Authentication authority asserted identity.

I'm so tired of Microsoft FORCING apps on their users especially when it's subpar compared to everything else that already exists.

Me too, I didn't ask for it, but these arrogant Microsoft devs decided I actually needed it.

Not sure whether or not anyone actually associated with the company reads any of these threads, but in case they do, keep your stinking BS programs like this out of my OS.

I don't care about security patches, but, ask me if I want something that will make changes to my system, and that I am locked out of getting rid of if I don't want it.

In the meantime, I'll bad mouth you as a totally untrustworthy corporation, who uses deception to force programs on it's customers.
