How do you stop edge from opening a new tab every time you click a link???

I GIVE UP!!! I'm going back to Chrome. Because Edge opens window after window all by itself it is dangerous. A couple of days ago I was trying to ask a question on my bank's web page and a dialog box opens up with a chat window that I thought was from my bank. It wasn't, and I got shuttled over to a site called "JustAnswers". I was stupid enough to give them my bank card number... I have gotten back all charges from that site, but felt compelled to replace my bank card. This is all on Microsoft. FU Microsoft Edge. No more.

This is happening to me now, and every time I tab over using RB or LB I get an additional pop up.

This "Solution" is not helpful for ANY other website than bing,com.

I would like to obtain additional information about this. On which websites are you observing links that open in a new tab when clicked?

Every SINGLE webpage on the entire world wide web or any sort of inter or intra net. It is the most absolutely annoying setup ever. I could lisrt a dozen plus reasons but the tops ones are simply "Surfing the web" as it was called for my generation ends up resulting in having 100+ tabs open in no time at all. Which then of course leads to the next pretty critical issue - computer resources. Before you know it Edge is consuming GIGS AND GIDS of memory and cpu resources. For anyone using a computer even jsut a few years old this can quickly result in crashes of all kinks. Capiche?

Went through these steps, but still having the same issue for the past 3 months or so. Probably a bug with the browser. Hopefully Microsoft will work on a resolution soon.
