Yes, you can keep that. But I'll tell you this... I used to use Quick Launch on 7. I gave it to/told all my clients about it. Believe I kept using it through 8/8.1. Then, maybe out of habit, I put it in 10... until I discovered/realise with 10 is was not necessary or helpful or served any real purpose or was redundant to what 10 already had. I dropped it in 10 quite quickly.
Between pinning, jumplists, Win+X & more, 10 works nicely without Quick Launch as an aide, anymore. But having it does no harm, either.
Appreciate you dropping OpenShell, good move. You can also consider using something I am very enthusiastic to recommend.
Win+X+R, type in shell:AppsFolder, hit Ok or Enter. Give it whatever View you fancy & always only minimise, do not close it.
