Yes, I notice Updates occur every week or so. So far, everything seems to be OK. But, I certainly will consider a clean install. Hopefully, the clean install will do the trick. Hope I don't do a clean install for nothing! I can't understand why Microsoft can't make it easier to dis-enroll from this. You've been great with yr replies. I hope I haven't been too much of a pest! Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thx. Please believe me that I never, ever did anything to choose the Dev channel. What "bugs" should I look out for? I really appreciate your quick replies. Thx again.

Correction - There was a Windows Insider update after I posted my above reply. Now it looks like I'm onEval. Copy Build 23531.1001. And, yes, I'm on the Dev channel - which I never selected. Back in May, I just inquired about the Windows Insider program. Before I knew it, it was loaded and I did not have a choice of which channel to pick. It automatically chose the Dev channel.

So many people on this site have the same issue with automatically being enrolled when all they were doing, like me, was checking to see what the program is about. I realize I can only do a clean install.

You say that Build 22621.2215 is the current one., but I'm on Build 23531.1001. I don't even know what the Insider does and hope it isn't interfering with my laptop's operation or other Windows updates. Can you advise me on the build issue and what negative effects the Insider program has on my computer. I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks for your reply and hopefully you can give me more info/guidance.

You are on one experimental insider operating system Build 23531.1001, that is Insider development channel, which is used for testing new windows operating systems.

Click on the Windows Insider Program and see what it shows. It will show Dev and your email address linked to it.

You sure did not get there by accident, you enrolled in Dev without realizing what you were doing. 😂🤷‍♂️

Now if you want to go back to the standard public Build 22621.xxxx you have no other choice than doing a clean install.

The alternative is to stay with the Dev Build 23xxx, hoping that it will not have too many bugs. 🤞
