After months of frustration, Googling, searching, etc. I found the culprit of not being able to type into the search bar in Windows 10. The problem began with a Windows 10 update. I accidently found a solution for my PC... it is the font manager software I use (FontBase). I normally keep FontBase open when working in my Adobe Suite so I can easily access fonts to activate. If I have the program open I cannot type into the Search Bar. If I close FontBase, I can type/search away!

FYI the problem was on 2 of the 4 PCs I have in my print shop. Closing FontBase solved the problem on both.

This is a bug which I can help with...

What I did: Before typing in anything, I clicked the top of the search window which showed the whole thing back. But this should be done every time you use Windows Search.
