Preparing for Insider Preview Builds of Windows 11 - ***UPDATED 6/28***

***UPDATE***

For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We've made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.

    Nobody is forcing you to spend money for a new system. Windows 10 is still in operation and will be for several more years.

    Dear people,

    Now that we have a shortage of chip during the pandemic, Microsot is going to bring us into the well with new options.

    There is no point in buying new hardware if there is a shortage of chips.

    I think they have already forgotten about the pandemic.

    I like that they are further developed but curt.

    Nu we tijdens de pandemie een tekort aan chip hebben gaat Microsot met nieuwe opties ons in het nou brengen.

    Het heeft toch geen zin om nieuwe hardware te kopen als er een tekort aan chips zijn.

    Ik denk dat ze de pandemie al hebben vergeten.

    Ik vind het fijn dat men verder ontwikkeld maar korzichtig.

    Reset windows update:

    Run cmd as admin

    Net stop bits

    Net stop wuauserv

    Net stop appidsvc

    Net stop cyptsvc

    C:\windows\softwaredistribution

    select all and delete

    if you don't want to del then rename the folder

    net start wuauserv

    net start bits

    Another way to recover is to download Microsoft Media Creation tool which will itself make the install media for you rather than using an ISO to make install media.

    Perhaps you might want to think about installing a BETA or PREVIEW build instead of DEV. They are generally more stable and give you access to some of the latest feature updates. DEV builds while having 'cutting edge' features also require more intervention. And periodic reinstallation.

    There are a lot of resources through insider.windows.com and there is also access to the different build levels there.

    By the way. Your computer (fortunately ) does not 'brick' like a phone unless you have a hardware problem. The software is rewritable and repairable .

    If you do need some help with the software end of it Microsoft does have an Assure policy / program that can extend help with recovering your device.

    Hope some of these ideas help.
