***UPDATE***

For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We've made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.

    the CPU is more than capable of running Win11, but god knows what's up with Microsoft 😒🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

    I have been a microsoft cutomer since 1987 and an avid defender of Microsoft. I have never seen a thread get to 58 pages this fast with the majoraty of the people complaining about the same problem. I don't understand why Microsoft would put out the requirements when most people don't have computers that can be updated according to your software even if they meet the requirements that have been layed out by Microsoft.  I have 4 computers including a Surface Pro 3. The only one that passes the test is my 2 month old HP Laptop. I will not upgrade the HP Laptop if my other three computers are going to be stuck o n win 10..

    less than 10% of the users in this discussion have machines suitable for windows 11.

    Most here are beta testers and are having problems before the release.

    I wonder when the upgrade reaches the rest of the users.

    So then the vast majority of Windows users will not be eligible for Windows 11, even people who bought Microsoft's own Surface products just a few years ago. So much for inclusiveness I guess.

    But they haven't mentioned any 4th , 5th, 6th or 7th gen CPUs in their compatibility list

    Generation is a soft floor requirement.

    Compatibility for Windows 11- Compatibility Cookbook | Microsoft Docs

    There are new minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. In order to run Windows 11, devices must meet the following specifications. Devices that do not meet the hard floor cannot be upgraded to Windows 11, and devices that meet the soft floor will receive a notification that upgrade is not advised.

    Hard Floor:

    • CPU: Core >= 2 and Speed >= 1 GHz
    • System Memory: TotalPhysicalRam >= 4 GB
    • Storage: 64 GB
    • Security: TPM Version >= 1.2 and SecureBootCapable = True
    • Smode: Smode is false, or Smode is true and C_ossku in (0x65, 0x64, 0x63, 0x6D, 0x6F, 0x73, 0x74, 0x71)

    Soft Floor:

    • Security: TPMVersion >= 2.0
    • CPU Generation
