Preparing for Insider Preview Builds of Windows 11 - ***UPDATED 6/28***

For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We've made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.

    Hi .. my PC is only for working and not for gaming. I've an i5 processor with 16GB RAM and SSD drive, TPM 2 chip but not activated and the requirments say my PC is not ready for Windows 11?

    I think this will not be a good practice to exclude professional customers and consulter and Windows fans since 1995!

    Hopefully you'll change the requirements than it is really not sustainable if windows 11 should only be able to run with new hardware again.

    Please note urgently that sustainability, especially in the current phase, cannot be expected of our environment any more.

    @Sibrop.o When you need to restart the Windows File Explorer, you suggested this:

    1. Log out and back in

    or:

    1. Run cmd ; Run taskkill /f /im explorer.exe in cmd ; Run explorer.exe in cmd

    But the simplest, fastest way (and probably safer) is:

    1. Open the Task Manager (press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, or Right-click the Start Button on the Taskbar to open the static "quick run" menu, or press CTRL+ALT+DEL and from the green full screen follow the option to run Task Manager). Then you can use one of the tabs of the Task Manager window:
    • in the "Processes" tab scroll to the last sublist of "Windows Processes" ; select "Windows Explorer" (it should be visible and running with your current user session) and click the button "Restart" at bottom of the Task Manager.
    • in the "Users" tab (this is just a different grouping) you can also look for the same "Windows Explorer" shown under your current user name and use the same "Restart" button
    • in the "Detailed" tab, the explorer is shown as "explorer.exe" in the "Name" column (make sure you select the correct instance for your current user (which is displayed on a column after each process name, but there's no "Restart" button, only a "Kill task" button (so you have to restart it yourself by clicking the on [File>Run a new task] menu of the Task Manager then entering "explorer" and press Enter or click OK in the dialog)

    It keeps saying "something is wrong. The error code might be useful: 0x800bfa07. Please reply to me if you can resolve the issue.

    There is no Beta of Windows 11. It hasn't been released yet.
