laptop stop charging when i upgread to windows 11. However the charging sign shows costantly but there is no increase in laptop`s battery percentage
please suggest what should i do

His battery is dead flat so can't turn the laptop on even with the charger plugged in so installing software at this stage isn't going to happen.

I didn't know that, probably missed his comment.
Be that as it may, even with a flat battery the laptop should boot using the charger. Something else must be going on, bad charger or bad plug or bad battery or something...

Suggest you download & install Lenovo OneKey Optimizer, it's old but still works on Windows 11.
Amongst other tasks, this handy utility lets you calibrate the battery (beware it could take hours), maybe after a good calibration it will start charging again. Also you can enable "Conservation Mode", Lenovo's recommended 60% limit to prolong battery life until you need a full charge of course.
I've been using it like that since 2018 and my battery is still at 89% capacity.
It might have to take to a computer shop to check the charger/cables and battery of the laptop unless you know an electrician who can check with a voltmeter.
Double-check there is no dust in the charger port, I know my SP7 can suffer from that.
Lenovo does have battery drivers for Windows 11 on their site but the laptop needs to be working.

What is your complete model number, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is a family of products?
Is this computer new?
Have you checked there is no dusk build up between the power cord, charger, and the computer where it plugs in?
Does the charger have an LED light on it to tell you it has power?
Have you tried a different power outlet on the wall?
Have you removed the battery from the laptop and checked everything is OK in there?
If it was not charging, why did you leave it in that stat until it ran out?
The model number of my X1 is “type 20KG-0022US”. It is a 6th generation Thinkpad X1 Carbon which was bought 3 years ago.
When it is charging, the light next to the connector will come up. But, it has not come up since I upgraded it 2 days ago. My wife took it to a lunch party to play some music and the battery was drained completely.
The battery in this laptop is not removable. At least, it is not user removable. So, I am stuck here. I have tried several wall outlets but in vain. I only have one charger and it had worked very well until I upgraded to Windows11.
