Sync issue in Mail app

Windows Insider Dev build 22449.1000. The Mail app is failing to download any messages with the error code 0x80090001. I have tried deleting the email account and entering it again but still the same result. Wi-Fi connection is functioning normally and email via the web browser functions normally.

UPDATE

Now installed new Dev build 22454.1000. The app still does not sync but now no longer shows an error message.

I have tried adding the email account using advanced settings but still no luck.

The same email account works fine on my other computers running both windows 10 and windows 11

    Have you tried Mail with the new Dev 458 build? It doesn't show listed as a known issue.

    I've tried the Dev build on my Desktop PC and Laptop and both of them will not allow the Mail app to Sync with my email accounts. At this point I'll just stick with the Beta builds since it works with the Mail app.

    I am having a similar problem with the Dev builds - Mail syncs properly with my Exchange work mail and my MS account Live.com mail accounts. It fails to sync with my ISP POP3 accounts. I have reset, repaired, deleted and reinstalled the app. I have gone through all the old fixes (DISM, SFC, Re-registering UWP Apps, turning on and off locations and sync settings etc.).

    I confirmed that the mail account settings are exactly the same as on my other Win11 machine. Mail works on this other machine which is running the latest beta release (It is TPM compromised, so locked out of Dev releases).

    I installed .184 over Win 10 yesterday and the Mail app works fine for me too. It only doesn't work on these last two Dev builds. Not sure why.

    One interesting observation I noticed was that when I deleted my email account and then added it , I accidentally entered a wrong password for that account (I used an old password whilst in my state of dementia!). When I ticked the sign in box it returned the usual All done box showing it to be all set up and inviting me to tick the Done box at the bottom! I did, of course, realise what I had done and re-set up the account with the correct password with the same result.

    I installed .184 over Win 10 yesterday and the Mail app works fine for me too. It only doesn't work on these last two Dev builds. Not sure why.
