I clicked "add phone number" on manage how to sign in with microsoft. I then added my phone number and recieved no text. I resent the code and yet recieved no text. I restarted my phone, reset the wifi and looked at other articles with people having this problem. Nothing helped. Please don't send me the microsoft help page on this issue because that hasn't fixed the problem.

If you have ever used your phone number for anything at all that is owned by Microsoft, you can't add it to the account. Which means anyone who has ever had a Skype account cannot redeem either Microsoft Cash Back or Microsoft Rewards. What's worse, their support staff won't tell you that. They will just waste hours of your time until you've maxed out your codes and have to come back in 24 hours to do it again. It's a nightmare with no solution.

It's hard to say it's fraud when we haven't paid for anything. We're exchanging our time with Microsoft products/services for these benefits.

The only issue is here is that Microsoft won't acknowledge what's happening and on top of that, provide a decent solution. It's pretty clear there is something wrong on Microsoft's end when I can redeem without an alias number on Xbox NO PROBLEM, but can't on my mobile or laptop.

Microsoft - please explain how I can redeem sweepstakes, and rewards on my xbox, but can't on my computer. If I can redeem on one platform (xbox) without the alias, THEN CLEARLY THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG ON MICROSOFT'S END.

    Hello Aronas,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

I suggest you try adding the phone number again by following the steps below:

    1. Sign in to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, see Microsoft account help for more info.
    2. Select Add emailor Add phone number.
    3. Follow the instructions to add a new email address or phone number to your Microsoft account aliases.

I recommend that you visit the above link in your phone's browser (using cellular, not WiFi) to add a phone number, which theoretically excludes other distractions and allows the same ISP (Internet Service Provider) to minimize latency.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

Mosken_L - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
