I don't know if I'm missing out on something because I'm level 2 and my daily total points has decreased from 210 to 195 due to the activities.

How the Grinch stole Christmas!
Happy Holidays!
It seems that nearly all tasks have been devalued.
So our time is worth less.
Happy Holidays!

Very disappointed, points should be increase
I have observed over the years that the lifetime counter for the number of points donated to charities diminishes after a certain period. This renders achieving the 150,000-point, 50,000-point, and even the 20,000-point badges virtually impossible. It seems that the only feasible way to obtain these badges now is to accumulate at least 150,000 points and donate them all at once. While this approach is possible, one should be mindful that there may be instances when it becomes necessary to redeem some or all of those points for gift cards for purchasing essential items at that particular time. It happens to me often. Listen, if you need those essential items, please get them. Those are more important.
I took to tracking the numbers daily, and within the last 3 weeks I observed the following in Australia:
- Microsoft has definitely reduced the maximum points available in Aus, as noted from 210 to 195 including the daily set; however
- The Search on Bing section rarely has anything in it anymore, apart from the 2 point quizzes which at its height were worth 10 points, where there used to be between 30 and 50 points available in there;
- Average daily total increase in points has reduced from around 250 per day to 210 per day - a reduction of just under 20% (my numbers only, ymmv).
I'd love to see some commentary around what's available in the US and whether they are being treated with the same malice. The daily search points alone across mobile and desktop used to be 250 in the US, which if still accurate is now considerably more than the total amount of daily points available in Australia across all tasks including news articles, quizzes and the daily sets. It would also be interesting to hear the actual reasoning behind the changes, short of the canned "from time to time we may add or remove (read, remove then remove more)..."
Great summary.
Would also add in the dropping of the achievement rewards, the 1000/500/100 streak rewards, the lowered PC/console/mobile rewards. You will get the notifications of award conditions being met, but get an "oops, something went wrong" if you go to claim the reward - is the system broken OR do they enjoy profiling people?
Australia does not matter to M$, and if you dare question the regional restrictions you will have your account blocked.
