VPN Client Support

The info page for the new Samsung RT tablet - the ATIV tab - says:

Enterprise Solutions (upon request): Exchange ActiveSync, On-Device Encryption, Cisco VPN (Virtual Private Network), Juniper Junos Pulse VPN, EAS

But the Junos Pulse client is not in the Windows Store - so either Samsung has some exclusive deal with Juniper, or this is a "coming soon" feature.

I'd like an answer. As much as I love the Surface hardware, if I cannot get the last piece of the puzzle I need for work, the Pulse client, and it is available on another vendor's tablet, I'll need to think about switching.

I would really like an answer from Microsoft on this one.

And to re-confirm - the ATIV is a Windows 8 RT tablet, NOT a Windows 8 Pro tablet.

    I recently asked our Network Administrator if he could find out what he'd need to do to get our Cisco ASA 5520 to work with the built-in VPN client on Windows RT. Answer I got back:

    From Cisco - ASA versions 8.4.5 and 9.0.1 and higher support the Microsoft Surface RT running Windows 8.

    We are currently running version 8.4.4  so it will apparently be a no go at this point.

    I don't have any more details, but hopefully soon our ASA will get updated to 8.4.5 and we are going to revisit this situation. Of course their comment of "Surface RT running Windows 8" is a bit confusing... but it sounds like there might be hope for the built-in client.

    This biggest problem is that this thread was marked as answered.  No reason for MS to read this when it is considered solved.

    I assumed Microsoft has abandoned this since there hasn't been an update.  Doubt you guys read this but if someone at MS is reading it, remember when you wonder why your products fail in the marketplace that the race goes to companies that respond to their customers and give them what they want.  The fact that it never came across your team's mind that a tablet that ships with Office and has it as a main selling point wouldn't need to connect to 3rd party VPNs like Cisco especially when the biggest competitor in the market has had this support for years only means that you guys aren't a serious device player.  Remember this as you ignore your customers who are flying against the grain by choosing your products instead of the leading players in the market and understand why you can never get a foothold in this market.
