My type cover does not work and I left my surface aside the battery drained. I put it in the socket and the type cover worked. What will it be?

Other bluetooth keyboards work but not the MS Typecover, then the fault is MS.

At the time I wrote the post, October 2017, this was the situation. We now know
that there are SP3's in the US with this issue and that Microsoft has not
acknowledged that these are anything but individual system failures. They have
not acknowledged any trending or commented on the cause.

There's no public announcement on whether a fix is on the way. However given it's a 3 generation older product, I'm afraid that the probability we see a fix for the problem is very slim.

    Repost from 25^th^ January:

On the 18th December I emailed numerous senior management including CEOs at 1 Microsoft Way (https://www.elliott.org/company-contacts/microsoft/) with my grievance over the SP3 Type Cover issue. The same day I got a response from a Case Manager RE-Escalations.

On the 19th December I had a further response with a Service request Number.

Having packaged the SP3 and type cover up and sent (free postage) to nearest service center in Germany, a few days ago I received a replacement SP4. Admittedly I did have to pay £590 but this was fully refunded on exchange.

Early days but happy to say, at this stage, that I am pleased with how quickly the situation was expedited after the escalation team got a hold of the case. Also worth mentioning that the case manager emailed me almost daily which is comforting when you have shelled out so much cash for what I thought was going to be a service repair.

Remains to be seen whether the situation has been fixed though!

There was also a new pen in the box, apparently a bonus.

    Hope this helps.
