64 bit emulator surface pro x

I have been asking this question for some time now without a viable answer.

When I was convinced to buy this item, it came with a promise of 64bit emulator being very soon to follow, however this is now eight months later and still no idea how long we will have to wait.

I know that the emulator is currently available on the insider program, but all indicators are that its even more buggy than the somewhat limited 32bit emulator.

I'm surprised that Microsoft have not resolved the issues with this device as it would seem that they intend to peruse ARM technology in many future devices.

If the current state of play continues it could spell out disaster for this platform.

I have to say that there have been many updates for the pro x and it has improved over time, however many bugs and issues still remain and customer support for the pro x is at best very poor with the staff having little knowledge of the technical issues found on a daily basis.

Customer services have so far bricked the device on three occasions requiring hours of reloading and total loss of all data and without resolving the original problem (don't let them reset your device or set up phantom accounts) this doesn't work and creates more problems.

I have to say that given the choice again this device would not be on my shopping list.

The recent updates have made improvements and the device is now more stable than it was but without 64bit bug free emulator its very limited, Great looks and feel but don't judge the book by its cover, 

If you intend to use only store apps and basic 32bit programs for surfing and emailing all is good, but for any serious use it fails badly at present, which is truly a shame as the device has great potential but is poorly supported from my own personal experience.

At present its only a little above windows other failed ARM devices using RT which of course is no longer supported.

    Has your battery life improved? Also, why are you calling an iPad a laptop? Please don't compare a big iPhone to a real computer. iPads tablet market share has dropped from 80% to 34% over the past decade for a reason - iPads have extremely limited functionality. Also, Apple's apps store is not far superior. Windows has 35 million programs and the MS store has 600,000 apps. Apple's store has 1.9 million apps and iPad's can't run MacOS programs...

    Further, Apple laptops are not terrific.

    1. no touch screens
    2. no pen support
    3. no microSD slot
    4. no HDMI ports
    5. no face recognition
    6. no 1080p webcam
    7. no 2-in-1 design
    8. no 180-degree hinge
    9. no upgradability
    10. poor price to storage ratio
    11. poor price to memory rato

    And let's not forget all the class action lawsuits

    1. keyboard
    2. connectivity
    3. green screen
    4. thermo-throttling

    There is a reason laptopmag.com rated Apple laptops 10th out of 11 brands. In the future please refrain from posting Apple Ads in Microsoft (or Windows) discussion boards..

    Thanks for posting those Jeffery! After reading through those blog posts I'm now pretty excited about Windows 11 on ARM, and have just about convinced myself to enroll in the insider program and switch my Pro X to the dev channel to try it out. Now that it's been a few days have you had any show-stopping issues with yours? I don't know if you were running a Windows 10 build that had x64 emulation prior upgrading, but if so, have you seen any improvements in that going from 10 to 11, if you don't mind my asking.

    I've been in the Insider Dev Channel since the beginning (2014) - My Pro X has been running it since I received it. I didn't run into any issues under the old emulation (other than battery life). In my use case I haven't seen much difference.

    Yet another post with zero specifics and a lot of unsupported claims.  As a white-collar professional I can run all the apps I use on a regular that worked on my SP7:

    1. Statistical software: SPSS, R-Studio
    2. MS Office apps:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote
    3. PDF apps:  Drawboard PDF, PDF Pro Reader, ReadLoud
    4. Snapdrop

    The only downside is that my battery life has taken a hit and dropped from 11.5-12 hours of continuous YouTube viewing (40% brightness, battery saver on) to 9.5-10 hours.  

    UPDATE: After uninstalling the "KB5003266" update, battery life has returned to 11.5-12 hours...

    Well H1 arrived and still no 64bit emulator the pro x is an out of date door stop no better than my old RT 

    If you went to a computer store and they tried to sell you a 32bit PC you wouldn't buy it, so why is the pro x any better?

    No 64bit emulator, hopeless support, store apps only oh guess what its RT all over again
