you not helping anyone who already bought this computer, saying they "should've done their research" and "too late your fault, deal with it" kind of attitude"
You were responding with someone else worried "basic apps don't work on their computers" comment..
dont pretend your trying to help anyone, your just rubbing the dirt in their face,
and being coy about it
you're not a kind, nor helpful person, in any frame
whatsoever

Ok, I'll try this one more time.
Re-reading my post, I can see what you're saying, and how I worded it was not clear in what I was trying to actually ask. Sometimes I struggle with phrasing on forums. So let me re-phrase and clarify.
What I typed: "But did you not do any research on whether the software was compatible with ARM CPUs before buying the Pro X? Hopefully you didn't get a salesperson promising x64 emulation was coming really soon or by such and such date etc."
What I was trying to ask the poster I replied to was this: if before making the purchase,
- If he to had done some research and read somewhere that it was stated or implied that SQL Server should run on the Pro X (or in general Windows PCs with an ARM processor) either now or in the very near future.
- If a sales person said something to that same effect.
The reason I ask is it seems after reading through several threads similar to this one, that somehow buyers have gotten the impression that Microsoft promised 64-bit emulation was coming really soon (as in should have arrived mid 2020), and I've been trying to understand where this has been coming from. Because that misinformation is resulting in buyers remorse, and as a fan of the Windows on ARM platform I want to help correct any misinformation I can.
I hope that was more understandable. I absolutely did not ask this to rub anything in anyone's face. Maybe it's none of my business, and the poster doesn't have to respond. And to MitjaWogatzky - I apologize to if my original post came across as condescending to you.
Mosthandsome, with your statement of "retail investors have no idea about the technicals. they see a computer they like, buy it, and expect it to work as a computer this is obvious", you seem to be saying that everyone in this thread isn't knowledgeable enough to make informed purchasing decisions, but you're telling me that I'm being coy, unhelpful, and condescending? Yes, I assumed someone working with SQL Server might be at least somewhat knowledgeable with technology. I apologize if that was incorrect as well. I expect you'll probably say now I'm trying to back-peddle. Or maybe you're just trolling, I dunno.
I guess it doesn't matter now because reading Jeffrey's post above sit looks like solution to all of this will be the upgrade to Windows 11 as that's where we'll see x64 app support for sure. And we do know when that will arrive.
