my control key is broken

    Hi, is there anybody happen to this issue? My control key is broken after 10 months. I am a developer, I seldom use mouse, I often use the keyboard, like ctrl+arrow, ctrl+tab, ctrl+F4, ctrl+W, ctrl+alt+L, ctrl+shift+E, and so on. It's about more then 500 times I click the control key each day.

    China ms has changed a new keyboard for me last year, and the control key is broken again after 10 months. And the refuse change it again for me.

That's np, the real problem is even they change a new one for me, the control key will be broken again after 10 months.

    I guess the keyboard material is not good enough for me to click it more then 500 times each day.

    Surface book is really a good product, I really hope it will be perfect, I like surface book II, too.

    This has also happened to my machine. The control key first cracked, and has now fallen off.

    Seems like is far from a unique issue.

    How do i get my hands on a new one?!

    I was able to fix it using the key from 'ReplacementLaptopKeys.com' Cost-($31+delivery)

    I ordered the key online and used a youtube tutorial video for replacing.Its perfect solution and as good as new.

    I have the same issue.  Mine started as a small crack, but now the key has completely broken in two.  It still works, but makes typing and keyboard shortcuts more difficult, and it seems to make the key stick at times.

    I chatted with an agent online this morning.  He said that they do not sell or have replacement keys.  This is highly disappointing since there seems to be a definite issue with the Ctrl key in particular.  I've loved my surface book, but am highly disappointed with this particular issue and their response to it.

    This is the reality of companies like Microsoft - even apple.

    When I was in the Microsoft store  - there were 10 microsoft representatives simply walking around and talking to customers if they wanted to buy something - most of them were idle.  But for repairs, they did not have a SINGLE REPRESENTATIVE at the store.  So they want to sell you stuff - but don't want to repair anything- and don't want to take responsibility of basic design issues- probably not good business model.  So if you buy $ 3K surface book which has a design issue - you are stuck!
