I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it. I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.
With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes. Mouse motion ceases then resumes.
I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.
I know others have seen this problem. It should be easy to reproduce. Can someone from Microsoft try this please.
This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

I have been told the workaround is to use Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I have mouse and have ordered a Bluetooth keyboard that I will get tomorrow but have also ordered a BT-500 as it doesn't sound like there will be a quick fix. I have been told they don't have details but believe it is in the USB (as I speculated months ago).
The problem is in the screen not the base.
In the mean time, Handheld Scientific will be wondering what on earth has happened.

Hey guys! Got my XPS 15. It ended up being was way cheaper than the SB3 and it has been nothing but smooth sailing. Wish you all the best. GPU is not as good as the SB3 but it doesn't get remotely as hot.
I really wanted the SB3 to be the one and only but.... maybe the SB6?
I bought this USB keyboard Bluetooth adapter for $35 plus shipping. Today is the first day I've used it but I have not had any issues for the last 8 hours. No programs running in the background and I'm able to use my USB mechanical keyboard through a Bluetooth connection. I stumbled across this by pure luck but it seems like it will work until Microsoft can hopefully get a true fix in place. I wanted to pass this on in case anyone else is looking for a similar option. http://handheldsci.com/kb/
I have been asked to detach the screen and then plug the dock into the bottom of the screen (i.e. take the base out of the set up. I did so and the fault remains.
You may be asked the same.
