I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it. I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.
With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes. Mouse motion ceases then resumes.
I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.
I know others have seen this problem. It should be easy to reproduce. Can someone from Microsoft try this please.
This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

So I have a SB3, SD2, Dual monitors, and am using a USB sculpt ergonomic mouse and keyboard combo. I get horrible shutter and running keys. I have also notice that when this problem is happening I am also getting a horrible shutter in audio. I like to listen to podcast on youtube and though the video is fine the audio is as choppy as it can get. I am using a pair of surface headphones pair to the SB3. does anyone else have this problem? Should I start looking for a new device?
I am having the same issue, though I am on a Surface Pro 7 with the original dock.
I have tried purchasing a Dock 2, resetting Windows 10 (completely), cleaning ports, changing power options, disabling USB power management, using a powered USB hub both directly connected to the Surface and the dock, multiple different keyboards, and mice combinations, flipping the connection.
This started for me or around October 5th, I have had the Surface since March.
I spent 5 years doing PC and laptop repair, this is the first time in my life I have become this frustrated with a technical issue like this.
I need this to work, it is my work PC and I can not work without a dock as I depend on multiple monitors. I don't have the money to purchase any new devices. After a full restart (power down) it might work for a few minutes, then go back to having the same issues. This makes it especially hard for me as I am a graphic designer so my job is sending emails and doing very delicate adjustments a single stutter can cause me to lose 15 minutes of work... multiple stutters throughout the day is decreasing my productivity and putting my source of income at risk.
Ow, darn. We still have the impression this helps, but I'm not sure though and according your feedback we will start having problems later this day.
Nope, that doesn't help at all. Thats one of the first things i tried (and I think not only me).
Our first impression is that this Energy Mode could help.
We did not have this issue for the last couple of hours. Not sure if this really helps, I just want to share this already.
To change your Energy settings, press and hold the battery icon and change slider to the right for best performance.
