This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.
I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.
Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so
Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?
I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.
I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback
Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.
Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Thanks for sharing, but are you able to get back to data that is on your device before the whole firmware <snip>up by MS??
Thanks
There seems to be only one option. Send in your device for a refurbished unit. I don't want a second hand unit. I suggest that I will pay a little extra for them to send me a new current generation unit. No, they keep saying that send in your unit and we will send you a second hand unit, oh sorry a refurbished unit.
I stated that I really don't want to send in my unit, for very understandable reasons. My unit is new when I bought it, and I am being reasonable and offer to pay some extra for a new unit. I just don't understand how big company works!! Maybe they are not much better than me. It's a great way to sell some new unit, I am reasonable about how much more I will have to pay. Of course, they will have to give me a discount for fxxking up my device. Not to mention, the data!!!! Yes, I should backup every single day etc......... So I will have to take some responsibility for that, but again. Saying that replacing with a second hand unit is good enough show how little we are to them!!!
Be smart and start looking for alternatives, or for the smart ones. Maybe even start a new company that do a better job than them.
A very unhappy customer!!!
Agreed , once you are through to the right people it is easy however they do not make it easy and will definitely make me think twice about buying m soft again. I work in the car industry and recalls take place all the time and dealt with openly and efficiently, this is another level of bad customer service, transparency and filibustering, come on m soft recognise the problem and pay for the bad batch of whatever component that has gone wrong. There should be instant recognition on their home page and a go to process in place, take care of your customers and they will take care of you or is msoft so big we have become just collateral damage.
I have been following this for a while, trying all the suggestions. I thankfully have just received a replaced (and upgraded [128gb]) Surface Go. I'm in the UK and found it VERY hard to get hold of MS UK Support, so thought I'd share at least the route I took.
UK MS website just takes you round in circles and there is no live chat, telephone or email to contact - It basically wanted me to do a service request @ £211 and this was the only option.
So I went on to twitter and private messaged @MicrosoftUK. This was slow but I got responses. Eventually (this was weeks though) they escalated to the 'Next service level or support'. This was then quite quick, I then got an email (and support #) asking the basic stuff, serial, UEFI, photos, addresses etc - There was no need to explain the problem any further than this, its clearly a known issue. Then return label was given, I sent back old device and within 10 days I got a replaced upgraded device.
