Here's the problem with all this BS that is NOT being addressed by either you or Microsoft. There is no reason why anyone should have to do anything to get a standard component, compatible with industry standards, to work on a computer that has been marketed
by a major manufacture as customer ready. Especially one that is over priced and highly hyped as being "cutting edge."
I’m an end user volunteer, and I find it as frustrating as everyone else that I can’t use my SP3 like a laptop and not use Y cables and other tricks to power devices.
This problem with an underpowered USB 3 port has been flagged and reported to Microsoft for close to a year now and NOTHING has been done by Microsoft to try and fix it. This is not just an inconvenience for those who are gullible enough to believe that
Microsoft might have turned over a new leaf and finally cares about something other than the bottom line, this lack of concern is actually criminal!
Microsoft told me that the port me the official USB requirement.
... For the foreseeable future, it is evident that they intend to to force consumers into serving as guinea pigs for trouble shooting this new atrocity and the "subscription" program that lies covertly behind it. ...
I’m concerned that the consumer community is really a testing ground for Enterprise. I have mixed emotions on forced upgrades. I don’t think they are good for everyone. Pro
users can “defer” but not Home users. Time will tell, but my vote is that this will be as much of a mess as it is today.
I'm not going to comment on your other points. Everyone is indeed entitled to their own opinion.
