Surface Book 3 Randomly Freezing

This is untrue, the issue has not been resolved. I'm returning this laptop, what a waste of $4,200.

Realweb ApS  I believe your solution solved the issue. I have been suffering this power saving freeze craziness ever since I got my Surface Book 3 with Nvidia RTX3000, 1TB storage and 32GB of ram. Screen shot of the settings, I disabled all of the power saving features and took efficiency slider all the way to 1 before disabling all power features. Captain Planet is not happy.

After testing for an hour I still got a few mouse freezes, but definitely less. I have Logitech G603 and G700s mice, with high refresh rate for CAD work. So hard to understand why Microsoft cant get this fixed, they have acknowledged this issue exists already. My Logitech keyboard also had random freezes and repeated keys... Looks like that got fixed as well. Also, I am on the "Best performance" mode on the processor setting.

I had the same problem with my Surface Book 3 15 inch. It frequently feezed for a second and blocked the input like mouse and keyboard. Sometimes the freezing could take longer time needing a turn off and on.

I tried the other solutions in this thread but nothing worked for me.

I contacted the Microsoft support, reinstalled my PC with a specific image and reinstalled everything. It didn't work!

After a lot of trouble shooting I found out that the freezing problem was caused by the Intel power saving. I couldn't disable this in the power settings because they are very limited for the device. Instead I downloaded the "Intel Graphics Control Panel" in the Windows store and disabled everything under:

System -> Power

And bang! Now everything works like a charm. And no reboot needed!

I'm pretty sure this is the main reason for all the Surface freezing problems.

Microsoft and Intel should be a shamed not to solve this problem a long time ago or at least notify their users about it. For 2 month I have had a $3000 computer I couldn't use for my daily work and I have spent a lot of time reinstalling and trying to find out what was wrong.

For the brightness, does it change its brightness when you switch from opening between bright an dark content on the screen? Or even if when you have the same content on the scree, it changes brightness on its own?

Please run these steps on your Surface Book 3 to troubleshoot then observe if still the issues persist:

1: Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check Windows Update

2: Update drivers and firmware

                               Check what is the current OS Build of your Windows version by going to Settings > System > About.

                               Go to Download driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Book 3 then click Download on the next page.

                               Choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.

                               After downloading, run and install the .msi then Restart.
