Battery Drains While Shutdown

I have read many posts and made many attempts to correct this problem without any success.

I was traveling for 3 months and when I returned the battery was completely dead.

Also, each night since my return, the battery drains as much as 12% overnight while shutdown.

I have all MS updates but the problem continues.

Please advise.

    Dear Micorosft Surface team,

    There is clearly a problem with the Surface Pro 4 battery that needs to be addressed. I have offered to loan my Surface Pro 4 to your engineers  should that assist with investigations.

    My Surface Pro 4 shutdown drainage is in that range.  After 8 or 9 hours, it loses from 8 to 12 percent.  Same before and after update to 1903.  Quick start option setting doesn't make any difference either.  Also using the command line shutdown.exe doesn't make any difference.  Same for hibernate or shutdown.  As far as I know, the only way to use a Surface Pro 4 on battery after an extended shutdown is to use an external battery that weighs almost as much as the Surface Pro.  If the future resembles the past, Microsoft will solve this problem in a year or so.

    Hi, Tim923347.  My experience was the same as yours on Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10 version 1903.  Specifically, "shutdown /s /f  /t 0".

    Hi,Tim923347.  My experience was similar to yours.  The shutdown.exe from cmd.exe did not stop the battery drain.  Specifically, "shutdown /s /f  /t 0".

    Interesting. What command did you use DcPWS? Any switches?

    I tried again evocing 'shutdown /s' and checked about 30 hours later. I had lost 53% power with only 47% remaining after booting.
