A lot of people are facing the same problem since last year but Microsoft keep ignoring all these. All the update that so called stabilize the battery is useless and make the device hotter and drain faster.
Battery Drains While Shutdown
I have read many posts and made many attempts to correct this problem without any success.
I was traveling for 3 months and when I returned the battery was completely dead.
Also, each night since my return, the battery drains as much as 12% overnight while shutdown.
I have all MS updates but the problem continues.
Please advise.
THX! :)

2018-09-21T08:38:04+00:00 It is same to me.
Sometimes when I shutdown, close the keyboard and back home, the Surface was hot and out of battery.
I think there is cause of Shutdown progress.

2018-08-19T02:33:41+00:00 Guys..
This is my 2 cents worth.
It's frustrating. I purchased my Surface Pro 4 in May 2017.
It was a new unit and I was excited with it. Soon enough I realized that there was a serious flaw with the Battery Drain. I began to check and the Q&A went back as far as 2014 as I can see. Could be further back though. Same Q&A. I also tried all those suggestions given. NOTHING seems to work. So I am totally disappointed. I'd probably just cut my losses and move on with another brand. Sadly this series is NOT a thumbs up for me.
But I must say that I am very pleased wit ALL the other features available. It's only the battery drain thing. I cannot predict when I will be left high and dry and that is not good.
Sad Customer.

2018-06-11T21:34:22+00:00 So I don't get. I create a thread regarding a battery drain issue. MS Agent asks for a sleep report. I provide 2 of them, and instead of getting a response, I get my thread merged with another thread having similar issue. Yet, no further response from MS Agent afterwards. I get it, it's probably easier to keep similar topics in one thread, but it also makes it look like this is not a prevalent issue when everyone's issue is merged into one thread. At least give me a follow up to what you asked for and what I provided. Each evening, I shut down at 100% and the following evening I am starting at 90%.

2018-06-07T07:17:27+00:00 I had the same problem with my 2016 Surface Pro 4 with the batter drain. I also had a problem with the screen shaking to a point that it was unreadable. Microsoft, after 6 months of trying all kinds of fixes replaced my SP4. I have been working with it about two weeks and notice that the battery drain is very small now. I can leave it for a few days and the battery is still in the 90% or better range. That is wonderful.
Cheers,
JerryBangkok
