I've got a new Surface Pro 2017 and today the mouse pointer being driven by the touchpad has started freezing for 1-2 seconds.
All the latest updates are installed.
I've removed the mouse from device manager and then ran Scan for new Hardware.
I've removed and re-installed the lastest Surface firmware package.
But it still does it, however it only seems to happen when the device is on power. It works fine on battery.
Any ideas?

What I have discovered over time is that the plug which I use to charge my Surface is on the same electrical circuit as a set of lights. When the lights are on, this somehow causes the issue of the mouse freezing when the Surface is plugged in. It explains why this was only happening in the evenings for me. When the lights are off or I'm plugged into a plug on a different electrical circuit I don't have the issue.

I assume you mean the keyboard lights? I think I've read this elsewhere.

I had this problem the entire time I had my Surface Pro 4, bought the one time warranty extension when they were coming out with the 6 and they replaced my 4 with a new 5.
The problem persists.
It is infuriating. Everything is updated. Diagnostic tool has been run INSIDE the store by Microsoft techs.

Very very frustrating.
My original charger recently died and I bought a (much) cheaper after market charger and I am experiencing the same behavior - touchpad freezes constantly when the new (non Microsoft charger) is plugged in and it doesnt freeze at all when unplugged.
Infuriating - this makes no sense
