Surface 8 Pro - new SSD - compatibility with PCIe 4

I bought 256gb surface pro 8 recently, and would it be okay if I replace it with bc711 1tb? Seeing these just frighten me out from purchasing SN740 2tb...

SK hynix BC711 works fine. A few few few error case happens (actually it happens only turning off Window with pushing shift key). I think it is normal. Without way of the turning off, only once happened since I've been using my SP8 with BC711 2022 november. Even though I use BC711 cut from 2280 to 2230 size. With BC711 for installing, no registry modification required.

At first I bought WD SN740 but now I gave up the ssd. Now SN740 is in external ssd enclosure. The method works quite well only with power plugged and no sleep mode. But most time I tried to turn on or log in from black screen, the BSOD appeared. The mobility is very important to this product but everytime when I take out from my backpack it has been turned off already by erratic status(and I can hear couple of times of electirc hiccup sound). And even with power plugged, sometimes I can feel it is unstablized.

After the trial and error, for capacity, I bought SK hynix BC711 1TB. I am using well so far.

This is not a pcie 4 issue my friend. This person here used a 1 terabyte PCIE 3 ssd from WD and has the same problem.

There are two options for you:

1 is choosing a different SSD with PCIe gen 3.

2 is that following the instructions may partially fix the problem (but sometimes the computer will reboot)
