Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser 
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

    I have been facing this issue within 8 months of purchase and tried to find solution from youtube your official site.

    Never ever on your site, I saw a Complaint box. Never ever dreamt that such an expensive device can create issue and that too from Microsoft.

    Today after too much of frustration, thought of raising Complaint with Microsoft that I feel cheated, as within 30 mins of working the screen start to flicker and has been causing eye sight issue as it gets strained because of constant flickering..

    Now here I read today that up to 3 years you do replace. 

    Frankly speaking, I was about to buy apple when my friend recommended surface pro4, which he bought, since he insisted and willingly booked product on his card for me, which I paid him on delivery.

    I feel cheated or may be my badluck.

    I still would say that for 30 mins it works fantastic but too big a hole in pocket for this 30 mins.

    Mine just started shaking yesterday.....looks like no good product service for this issue.

    pretty upsettiing that you lay down your hard earned money and then this shaking starts occurring.

    Anyone had any positive support for their shaking issue?

    Do not waste your time going thru any of the trouble shooting steps provided by Microsoft helpdesk. This is a hardware fault and much has been written on it. Microsoft is just playing the "ignore game" and throwing its customers at the deep end. They are a large and profitable organisation and yet reluctant to do a recall or at the worst case, offer affected customers with some sort of credit or trade-in for their newer versions of the Surface Pro.

    For certain, no more such hardware from Microsoft and I will certainly pass the message on "stay away from Microsoft Surface laptops" to my friends.

    I have the same problem, for about a year ago. And now, I use my Surface rarely. No place for service in my city. People suggest to send to Singapore etc...but it is need extra effort. I do not know how to improve and use my surface, instead, now, I back to my old Asus.

    Please give me an easy and logic way to change or service my Surface.
