Hi All,

Update: Flickergate is now having a forum to bring all affected users at a single platform to plan for resolvement of issue. Please join at

 https://forum.flickergate.com

UPDATE: Check FlickerGate.com for videos of the problem and to submit your own.

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

My previous support ticket numbers are:

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

Kind Regards,

Abbas

Hi! I am aware of the replacement policy and have gone through 2 replacements already. This is my third Surface Pro 4 that I got after replacement only about a month back and the screen scramble is back. I don't think that any SP4 will be able to solve this problem. After going through 2 replacements, I am now fed up of this issue. I am a high school student and I cannot go replacing devices every 2 months. I cannot afford to lose my device even for a day for replacement. The last 2 replacements took 8-10 days each after I shipped off the faulty device and that caused me great inconvenience. Please look into it. I can simply not afford to wait for another 10 days to get another faulty device that I would have to get replaced again. I request you to please respond to this either here or on my Microsoft email  ******@outlook.com

    Hello Bryan,

Sorry to inform you but the Microsoft Support Desk which covers India region is pathetic. I made n number of support calls for my Surface Pro 4 replacement and till date nothing happened. I am still using my same Surface Pro 4 which I brought almost 2 years back and which has been a nightmare and a complete waste of money.

Is there a way my Surface Pro 4 screen flickering issue can be resolved?

    Appreciate your help.

    Regards,

    Ashish

Just contact Microsoft support - chat with a person is the best option - or let them call you.

Very easy, no need for waiting - either its working or not. Mine was replaced more than 8 times - so I was told that I have been moved to the next solution face (not sure what it will be yet) but you qualify for that after 4 replacements - you need all details about these:

    1. date
    2. case number
    3. shipment label
    4. device serial number

Good luck - the support is great, shame Surface pro 4 not so much :)
