Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser 
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

    I have screenproblems with my microsoft surface pro 4 (flickering).

    I heard that microsoft agreed that then the tablet/laptop can be replaced, when not older than three years.

    I live in Belgium.  I bought my surface in Belgium for 1500 euro.   I want to reach Microsoft to solve this issue.  I notice now that I can not reach Microsoft.   Please I want to solve this problem.  Could you take contact wiht me.  At least tell me where I can reach Microsoft, and  how I have to proceed to solve this problem.

    I agree that refurbishing SP4 is not a good solution because the problem did not solve.

     Shaking the screen annoys me, I need my SP4 because I have not another laptop. It starts to flickering when it connects to the internet when it is becoming so hot when it does not connect to the internet. the screen flicker without any acceptable reasons. why MS does not collect all SP4 and replace with another product which has not the same problem??? may be because our money and our time are not important for them. I do not want to throw away my money.

    call the Store you might travel to and speak to the Store manager and explain

    your situation. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/locations/find-a-store  -

    see if you can work something out. they may not have SP4 refurbs at the store to

    exchange. you might even ask if you can upgrade exchange for a newer SP 2017.
