Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser 
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

    If the MS care about our problem, they could collect all of SurfacePro4, pay back our money or ask us to replace with really new Surface.  they exten the warranty to 3 years but when the problem is not solved, for all of is throw away our money and waste time. 

    MS  pay back our money.

    I can agree with you same opinion. But I can also confirm to you that they don't care to lose their customers because if they care non of the team working there will agree to replace it with refurbish one. And they should give a new advance category same Samsung co. Did during the problem of note 7 . 

    But MS stretching the time to finish the 3 years. For all. So it will be illegal to change it as they declared. 

    Don't waste your time . And keep it or discard it and shift all your data to other laptop and go on normally.  To forget this bad experience with MSpro4

    Totally, agree with you. However, those affected should also take the lead to inform other who haven't not fall into this problem so that we avoid buying MS Surface and it product totally.

    So sad to hear that.  But the sadness will remain between users only . They don't care. We are here in Kuwait everything with instalments and my work can't done without laptop daily use. So I bought one HP envy working very well. And my MSpro4 kept under my chair in my car.  Wish someone in carwash station will get it one day 2😄 and I will never ask him about it.

    It is not only waste the time but also waste our money. I have paid about 2000 euro and now I cannot pay for another laptop. I have saved 4 years to buy it. I have change it one time but the new one has the same problem.
