Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

A video being played in browser
If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
If I use the touchpad
If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

I'm sorry to tell you that even the $630, others have reported $400 + $25, is not really a solution. It appears to be a design flaw and is as likely to happen with the replacement as your original.

If you, like many of us, find that to be a lame and unacceptable response from a mega corporation who owes more to its customers then check out flickergate.com and facebook.com/surfacescreenshaking/

I am having the same issue.
1. Heat seems to improve it
2. Screen is okay if I use an external monitor
3. No hardware / software solutions work
4. It started about 2 weeks after my warranty ended. I called support and was told I would need to spend $30 + $600 + tax to replace it.
Is there any other solution available? Please help!

We all need to put a little effort into this now.

A link to flickergate.com needs to be dropped in comments, complaints and reviews of any Surface Pro product on the internet. We need to crowdsource this so if everybody drops it at 10 or 20 places, it might get some traction :

Some suggestions:

Every thread on this microsoft forum where screen-issues for the Surface Pro are discussed. There's almost a hundred relevant threads, so let's get started.

On reddit/r/surface whenever a topic on the screen issue pops up

Reviews on amazon.com

Tweet! (somebody post a list of relevant people and hashtags to tweet this at?)

On relevant Facebook pages (anybody got a list?)

Review websites that allow comments? (anybody got a list of relevant review articles that we can already post to?)

... more suggestions welcome!

Yes, that's right. This is how you force these juggernauts to respond and take responsibility for themselves. Money talks, so speak their language.
Microsoft is ignoring us because they don't want to others to know that there is any issue with there device. @Drtigerlilly and Tim are spending considerable amount of time and effort to spread the message about device. They don't have to put that much effort into it if we all can contribute.

I have noticed that @Surface account is very active primarily on Twitter and Facebook to guide anyone who shows interest in surface. Interrupt there conversation and tweet/comment to the OP about the issue.

Use #flickergate and tweet as much as you can. Include @Surface @MicrsoftHelps @panos_panay @satyanadella in your tweets. The former three accounts are now shown when you check the #flickergate hashtag and no one at Microsoft likes that. Make the hashtag trending

Create a twitter and facebook account if you don't have. Create another one if you don't want to use your own but do it must. I will try to collect list of other related sites and will post them here . Derigerlilly is right, if we all all contribute then we can make an impact.

Same problem. My SP4 is out of warranty. Screen shakes. Brought it to Microsoft store. He said it was a hardware issue. So upset. Now what? Piece of junk.
